New school year begins at Selásskóli

The new school year has begun at Selásskóli. School orientation was held Friday, Aug. 22, and classes started Monday, Aug. 25 for all grades except 1st grade. First-grade homeroom teachers held welcome meetings with students and their parents during these first days, but regular scheduled classes begin for them Tuesday, Aug. 26.
There are 177 students at Selásskóli this year. Of these, 23 children are starting their elementary education in first grade, and we look forward to having them. We also warmly welcome all other new students and hope they'll feel comfortable at our school.
The homeroom teachers this year are:
1st grade – Helga Lucia Bergsdóttir and Ólöf Huld Ómarsdóttir
2nd grade – Salóme Gísladóttir and Sigríður Hallsteinsdóttir
3rd grade – Stefanía Ósk Þórisdóttir
4th grade - Karólína Þórunn Guðnadóttir
5th grade – Fanney Ófeigsdóttir and Sigrún Fossberg Arnardóttir
6th grade – Sandra Grettisdóttir
7th grade - Heiðrún Brynja Ólafsdóttir and Sigrún María Karlsdóttir
We have a diverse and exciting school year ahead, as the school celebrates its 40th anniversary this winter, which will certainly influence our activities.
We look forward to good collaboration and a joyful school year with students and their families.
